Supporting Responsible, Controlled Development

As a candidate for City Council, I believe that growth and development should serve the best interests of our community, not overwhelm it. While economic growth and new opportunities are important, they must be balanced with preserving the character of our neighborhoods, protecting property values, and ensuring that infrastructure and city services can keep pace. I am committed to supporting controlled, responsible development that enhances our city without sacrificing what makes it a great place to live.

Key Priorities

1. Preserve Neighborhood Character
I will advocate for development policies that respect the unique identity and character of our existing neighborhoods. New projects should be compatible in scale, design, and purpose with the surrounding community and protect the integrity of residential areas.

2. Ensure Infrastructure Can Support Growth
Before approving large developments, it’s essential to evaluate the impact on roads, schools, utilities, public safety, and other essential services. I will work to ensure that our infrastructure is capable of supporting new growth without compromising the quality of life for current residents.

3. Promote Balanced Commercial and Residential Development
Our city’s long-term success depends on maintaining a healthy balance between residential, commercial, and public spaces. I will support thoughtful land use planning that encourages economic opportunity while preventing overdevelopment in areas not suited for intensive use.

4. Support Smart, Phased Growth Plans
I will work with city planners and developers to promote phased, incremental growth that aligns with long-term city plans and market demand — avoiding sudden spikes in population or construction that disrupt services, infrastructure, and traffic patterns.

5. Fiscal Responsibility in Infrastructure Projects
I believe in practical, cost-effective infrastructure investments that prioritize core services and long-term reliability over trendy or unnecessary projects. I will ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely on improvements that directly benefit residents and strengthen our city’s essential systems.

6. It’s vital to protect homes and businesses from flooding. I will support improvements to drainage systems and flood mitigation efforts to build a more resilient city.
